About The Position

The Concierge Lounge Attendant provides a high level of service to guests, hosts and serves food and beverages during morning and nightly service, and responds to guest requests. The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, strong customer service, and knowledge of food-handling and safety procedures. The attendant also supports associate training and helps maintain the Concierge Lounge’s service and quality standards.

This is a full-time position with varying hours and weekend availability required. The position offers medical, dental, and vision benefits, discounted downtown parking, free employee meals, DailyPay, and hotel and restaurant discounts.

Requirements

• Must be able to stand for 8 hours.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Related customer service experience.
• Knowledge of proper food-handling guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Host and serve food and beverage offerings during morning and nightly service.
• Complete TIPS certification within 90 days and Great Food/Safe Food training; follow food-safety procedures.
• Use the Oracle Point of Sale system to ring in drinks and cash out guest checks.
• Handle guest requests and resolve guest concerns at first contact.
• Maintain working knowledge of the Grand Rapids area and recommend local offerings.
• Know hotel room locations, services, and facilities.
• Perform all tasks on the AM and PM Concierge Lounge checklists.
• Perform duties with the Quality Assurance inspection and audit standards in mind.
• Welcome and engage guests warmly, providing a fond farewell when they leave the Concierge Lounge.
• Recognize cultural differences and accommodate guests’ specific needs and requirements.
• Train associates and develop their communication, hospitality, customer-care, and technical skills using prepared training materials.
• Offer and arrange car rentals, airline and train tickets, office and beauty services, shopping, restaurant reservations, and other guest requests.
• Maintain the Marriott Bonvoy Program by understanding membership levels, recognizing elite status, and delivering the benefits promised to members.
• Maintain personal appearance and comply with grooming standards, setting an example for others.
• Assist with and maintain knowledge of AYS operations and systems.
