About The Position
The Computer Technician configures, installs, supports, and maintains district computer hardware and software, and provides technical assistance to district personnel. The role also provides training to district staff and supports schools with planning technology needs and implementing district and school technology plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or three years of successful experience in computer hardware and software configuration, installation, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Configure and install district computer hardware and software.
- Maintain and support district computer systems, including providing technical assistance to district personnel, monitoring software licenses, and providing software and hardware maintenance.
- Train district staff in computer and software use and application.
- Assist with coordinating computer-related repair requests with appropriate district personnel.
- Assist with inventory of all hardware and software.
- Assist with previewing, recommending, and selecting hardware and software for purchase and use in administrative and instructional settings.
- Act as a resource for school personnel to help schools plan future goals, needs, expenditures, and implementation of the district and school technology plan at the school level.
- Stay current on new technology products and trends through provided publications and training.
- Follow State and School Board policy.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Technology.
