About The Position

Sunflower Electric Power Corporation, a generation and transmission utility serving central and western Kansas, is seeking a Computer Systems Technician in Great Bend, Kansas. The role provides IT support and maintains and upgrades hardware, network infrastructure, and software. The technician resolves technical issues and collaborates with Infrastructure Services teams and vendors to assess technology needs, implement solutions, and help keep the technology infrastructure secure, reliable, and performing well. The position offers opportunities to develop knowledge of emerging hardware, software, networking technologies, and advanced troubleshooting techniques; improve system performance and reliability; and streamline incident management, system changes, and maintenance processes to reduce downtime and improve response times and operational efficiency. The technician will work with a knowledgeable team in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Requirements

Associate degree or technical degree in computer science, information systems, or another computer-related field, and two years of network systems and applications installation and troubleshooting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with Windows Server and desktop operating systems, virtual server technology, and Internet applications.
