About The Position

The Computer Support Specialist utilizes, evaluates, and coordinates software and hardware for new and existing applications to meet organizational business needs. The role supports assigned projects and helps resolve problems promptly to determine effective IT approaches. The specialist may provide guidance and informal training to users. The position assists with designing and implementing hardware configurations, installing software, managing network systems, and training staff on proper operating procedures. It also supports the RWA’s Cyber Security function.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of experience troubleshooting and supporting hardware and software related to radio, telephone, and ancillary systems.
Experience in project management, communications system backup and recovery, and workflow analysis.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or related degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with the IT Manager to discuss system, project, and support needs.
Assist with designing and installing computer hardware, software, network, and telecommunications configurations.
Troubleshoot network, hardware, telecommunications, and software issues.
Support IT communications technologies.
Maintain data associated with communications facilities, including inventory, operations, and maintenance information.
Provide user support and training.
Coordinate project communications for interdepartmental business needs.
Research technology and maintain awareness of the market.
Support the RWA’s Cyber Security function.
