About The Position

The Complex Claims Director for Miscellaneous Professional Liability works within Financial Lines Claims and handles all aspects of high-exposure, complex third-party Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Privacy, and Media Tech claims. The position includes class actions and other high-exposure matters brought against insureds in a wide range of professions, managing claims from inception through conclusion.

The role involves making coverage determinations, investigating losses, evaluating and projecting exposures, presenting cases, setting judgmental reserves, and developing and implementing resolution strategies. The director strategizes and budgets litigation in coordination with counsel, vendors, and insureds; establishes clear ground rules with defense and coverage counsel to maintain financial control of budgets and expenses; and collaborates with underwriting to deliver differentiated value and service to customers and distribution partners.

AIG expects team members to work primarily in the office to support in-person collaboration. The role is part of AIG Claims, Inc., within the Claims functional area.

Requirements

• Strong track record handling complex insurance claims, litigation, or other related experience.
• Ability to analyze insurance policies and legal documents.
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of the litigation and arbitration process.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Professional liability claims experience within Financial Lines.
• Juris Doctor.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-exposure, complex third-party Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Privacy, and Media Tech claims, including class actions and other high-exposure matters, from inception through conclusion.
