About The Position

The Senior Marine Liability Adjuster processes and resolves marine claims for customers, maintains communication, and provides detailed explanations of settlements and fees. The role investigates damage, assesses coverage under marine policies, coordinates with surveyors and other vendors, and manages claim files through evaluation, investigation, litigation management, and resolution. Travel is required as needed.

Requirements

Three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Appropriate state adjuster license.
Valid driver's license and current insurance coverage, with a motor vehicle record that meets necessary requirements.
Knowledge of standard marine policies.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office products.
Good customer service skills.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

Investigate the cause and extent of damages, obtain appropriate documentation, and issue settlements.
Receive and review new claims and maintain data integrity in the claims system.
Assign surveyors as needed.
Review survey reports and insurance policies to confirm proper coverage.
Prepare settlement documents and request payment for claims and expenses.
Determine claim coverage, limits, and deductibles in accordance with policy information.
Work with outside engineers, surveyors, and various vendors.
Conduct claim file activities, including evaluation, investigation, litigation management, and resolution.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Support the organization's quality programs.
Travel as required.
