About The Position

The Community Support Specialist is a frontline role at the Flathead Valley Reentry Center (FVRC), a Montana Department of Corrections prerelease center. The position helps ensure the center’s daily operations run safely and smoothly while keeping resident success at the forefront. The role supports a structured environment that promotes positive reentry outcomes and community well-being.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and provide daily transportation for residents to and from employment sites, medical appointments, and other program-approved activities.
• Conduct wellness and accountability checks at resident workplaces.
• Manage resident check-ins and check-outs in accordance with facility policy.
• Perform routine room, facility, and Resident Offender searches to ensure safety and compliance.
• Answer and route incoming calls professionally and accurately.
• Staff the front desk and maintain a secure, welcoming reception area.
• Support general facility operations and contribute to program objectives as needed.
