About The Position

The Community Support Specialist is a frontline role at the Flathead Valley Reentry Center (FVRC), Montana’s first DOC-owned and operated prerelease center. The position supports safe and smooth daily operations while helping maintain a structured, supportive environment that promotes residents’ successful reentry and community well-being. The role includes transportation, resident accountability and check-in procedures, facility safety activities, reception duties, and general operational support.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Responsibilities

Schedule and provide daily transportation for residents to and from employment sites, medical appointments, and other program-approved activities.
Conduct wellness and accountability checks at resident workplaces.
Manage resident check-ins and check-outs in accordance with facility policy.
Perform routine room, facility, and Resident Offender searches to ensure safety and compliance.
Answer and route incoming calls professionally and accurately.
Staff the front desk and maintain a secure, welcoming reception area.
Support general facility operations and contribute to program objectives as needed.
