About The Position

Stockton Unified School District (SUSD) is seeking a Community Relations Specialist. SUSD serves approximately 38,000 pre-kindergarten through grade 12 students, as well as adults through Stockton School For Adults. The District’s mission is to graduate every student college-, career-, and community-ready, with a focus on proficient reading by the end of third grade, high-quality rigorous instruction, and readiness for life after high school. The position’s work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The employee must be available for a flexible schedule that may include occasional evenings and Saturdays based on District needs. Candidates must successfully complete law-enforcement hiring standards, including a polygraph examination, psychological examination, and extensive background investigation, and meet qualification standards for access to confidential national and California law-enforcement databases.

Requirements

Education, training, and/or experience equivalent to completion of an Associate’s Degree and two years of experience in community engagement, public outreach, program coordination, or a related field.
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
Fingerprinting through SUSD PD and tuberculosis clearance.
Must successfully pass law-enforcement hiring standards, including a polygraph examination, psychological examination, and extensive background investigation.
Must meet qualification standards for access to confidential national and State of California law-enforcement databases.
