The Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) is responsible for representation of the program in the community and offering services to eligible clients. The COC’s primary duties include calling referred clients to schedule intake assessments, maintaining referral records, responding to requests for HANDS to attend local community events relevant to FCP’s client population, attending community events to obtain program referrals, complete rounds at local hospitals & pediatrician offices with new parents to obtain program referrals, and coordinate/host HANDS’s monthly community baby showers. The position works alongside community partners and other FCP staff to coordinate events, build referral relationships, and maintain avenues for HANDS to be visible within the Louisville community so that program services can be continually promoted. The COC may provide information and referrals about community resources as needed when potential clients decline HANDS services or are ineligible to enroll in HANDS services. The COC’s work schedule varies but is required to be flexible to include some evenings and weekend hours. The COC is responsible for maintaining personal & independent transportation and a valid driver’s license.
