About The Position

This role supports the development, implementation, and performance of events and existing community outreach programs. Carries out plans, implements, and supports the organization of large and small events and volunteers to advance the mission of the company. The role also involves supervision, responsibility for outcomes, personal and professional growth, and alignment with company principles. As a supervisor, you are responsible for the safety, effectiveness, and job satisfaction of those you lead, fostering a team atmosphere where each member feels valued, heard, and empowered. As a leader, you will be responsible for outcomes including the ethical operation, profitability, efficiency, and goodwill of Hiki Ola, KMR, and dōTERRA. You will embrace accountability, accept correction, seek opportunities for improvement, and avoid assigning blame. As a role model and mentor, you will seek to increase personal knowledge, develop a Career Development Plan, grow the business and influence in the community, and help other team members flourish. Requirements

  • Proficiency in ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi
  • Interested in working on the land
  • Able to work with learners in both languages
  • Must prepare ʻāina based curriculum and engagement activities
  • Willing to meaningfully contribute to various activities and events with Kealakekua Mountain Reserve
  • Must have a love for the ʻāina and forest
  • College bachelor’s degree, or equivalent (i.e., extensive experience with Polynesian culture), in a natural resources discipline, Hawaiian culture, business management, engineering, or applied sciences
  • 5 years of public-benefit organization work experience in an operational environment
  • 5 or more years management or supervisory experience
  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications collectively identified with your leaders
  • Excellent listening, verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in computer programs such as but not limited to MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Leadership abilities for Hiki Ola and Kōnea Ola staff and volunteers, KMR employees and contractors.
  • Self-motivated and strong independent work ethic, timely and dependable.
  • Respectful of the host culture

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development, implementation, and performance of events and existing community outreach programs.
  • Carries out plans, implements, and supports the organization of large and small events and volunteers to advance the mission of the company.
  • Participate in WA, guest and community interactions, including those on-site, virtual and written.
  • Any other tasks delegated or assigned by the Hiki Ola Directors, KMR Operations Manager, KMR General Manager or other file leaders at KMR or dōTERRA International.
  • As a supervisor you are responsible for the safety, effectiveness and job satisfaction of those you lead.
  • As a leader you will be responsible for outcomes.
  • As a role model and mentor to others at KMR and dōTERRA International, you will seek to increase personal knowledge regarding your work (including accepting new and additional work opportunities), develop and follow a Career Development Plan, grow Hiki Ola’s and KMR’s business and influence in the community and help other team members flourish.
