You are a trusted presence in the community. Your role is to build relationships, create trust, and represent a consistent and positive presence connected to Public Health. You will spend time in the community consistently, connect with residents, churches, and local organizations, and be someone people recognize and feel comfortable talking to. You will promote healthy lifestyles by keeping conversations simple, relatable, and real, covering topics such as nutrition, physical activity, WIC and family support services, chronic disease prevention, and environmental health. You will engage the community through 1:1 conversations, support or help lead workshops, and participate in and help coordinate community events. You will be the voice of the community by listening more than you talk, identifying needs, barriers, and concerns, and sharing what you're hearing with the team. Success is measured by people knowing and recognizing you, regular conversations, consistent presence in the community, and bringing back useful insight on what's working and what's not.
