About The Position

Community Canvassers and Team Leaders will knock on doors in Kansas City, Kansas, and Overland Park to encourage voter turnout for Adam Hamilton, a Democratic candidate running for U.S. Senate in 2026. The campaign will speak with voters about issues affecting their communities and the upcoming Senate election. The role offers experience in leadership, communication and advocacy, community outreach and engagement, campaign work, public policy, and social enterprise. Canvassing positions start at $25 per hour, and Team Leader positions start at $27 per hour. The campaign offers overtime pay, driver and shift bonuses, paid training, sick pay, and friend-referral bonuses. Positions run through November 3, with possibilities for advancement afterward. Shifts are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday, with part-time or full-time options. Employees must be eligible to work in the United States and provide original, unexpired documents from the Lists of Acceptable Documents for I-9 verification.

Hard-working and able to stay motivated while engaging as many people as possible.
Culturally competent and able to engage respectfully with teammates and the community.
Eligible to work in the United States and able to provide acceptable original, unexpired I-9 documents upon hire.

Prior canvassing experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner.
Deliver a compelling campaign message and collect complete survey answers from voters.
Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills.
Follow the campaign's safety protocols.
For Team Leaders: Manage a small group of field canvassers, checking in with them periodically during the day and debriefing at the end of the day.
For Team Leaders: Ensure each canvasser has the materials needed to be successful.
For Team Leaders: Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work.
