Youth Villages is seeking a PRN Community-Based Specialist for its Intercept® program in Evansville, Indiana. Intercept is an evidence-based, intensive in-home program designed to help keep families together by preventing out-of-home placements or facilitating reunification. The program serves youth from birth through age 18 who face serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma. Services are delivered in families’ homes and communities, not in an office, and use strength-based support and evidence-based mental health interventions to help families build lasting change, parenting skills, and communication skills. The specialist carries a small caseload on an as-needed basis and conducts weekly individual and family sessions at times convenient for families. The role includes assessing youth needs, collaborating with providers and other systems, providing crisis support, and completing documentation. Staff attend weekly individual, team, and clinical consultation meetings, as well as quarterly booster trainings. Travel to family homes and communities may be 60 to 80 miles, with additional travel potentially required. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, based on the availability of the youth and families served. Community-based staff are reimbursed for applicable mileage. Applicants must have a current, valid driver’s license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance. The advertised pay is $20–$22 per hour, based on education. Benefits are excluded for variable-status employees. Youth Villages describes its mission as helping children and families live successfully and emphasizes professional growth, personal development, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
