About The Position

Youth Villages is hiring a PRN Community-Based Specialist for its Intercept® program in Indianapolis, Indiana. Intercept is an evidence-based intensive, in-home program designed to help keep families together by preventing out-of-home placements or supporting reunification after placements such as foster care, residential treatment, hospitalization, or juvenile detention. The program serves youth from birth to age 18 who face serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma. Specialists provide services in families’ homes and communities rather than in an office, using tailored, strength-based support and evidence-based mental health interventions to help families develop parenting and communication skills and achieve lasting change. The specialist carries a small caseload on an as-needed basis and works with youth and families through weekly individual and family sessions. The role includes ongoing needs assessment, collaboration with other providers and systems, crisis support, documentation, and participation in professional development and clinical consultation. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, based on the availability of the youth and families served. The position may require driving 60 to 80 miles to meet families, with additional travel possible; applicable mileage is reimbursed. A current valid driver’s license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance are required. The posted hourly rate is $20–$22. Benefits are excluded for variable-status employees.
