About The Position

Youth Villages is hiring a PRN Community-Based Specialist for its Intercept® program, an evidence-based, intensive in-home service designed to keep families together by preventing out-of-home placements or supporting reunification. The program serves youth from birth through age 18 who face serious emotional or behavioral challenges or have experienced trauma. Services are delivered in families’ homes and communities, not in an office, and use strength-based, evidence-based mental health interventions to support lasting change and develop parenting and communication skills. The specialist carries a small caseload on an as-needed basis and provides individual and family sessions, assessments, coordinated treatment planning, and crisis support. The role involves regular professional-development meetings and training, collaboration with other providers and systems, timely electronic medical record documentation, and travel to families’ homes and communities. The schedule is flexible and non-traditional, based on the availability of the youth and families served. A current valid driver’s license, an automobile for work purposes, and proof of auto insurance are required; applicable mileage is reimbursed. The position pays $20–$22 per hour, based on education. A bachelor’s degree in a social services discipline is required; a master’s degree is preferred. Benefits are excluded for variable-status employees.
