Community Banking Associate (Bank Teller)
About The Position
ACNB Bank is hiring a full-time Community Banking Associate (Teller) at its Mt. Airy office. The role serves customers and the surrounding community by providing courteous service, processing banking transactions, building customer relationships, and referring customers to appropriate banking team members. The position typically starts at $17–$18 per hour, with the possibility of higher pay based on previous experience. The position offers opportunities to mentor new associates, develop professionally through training, and advance within the bank, including to Community Banking Associate II, Branch Manager, or roles in Wealth Management, Treasury Management, Insurance Services, and Mortgage Lending.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
- Proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Moderate computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move approximately 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move approximately 50 pounds of coin.
Nice To Haves
- Previous customer service and cash handling experience in a retail store, such as a Key Holder or Assistant Manager role, or in a banking environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and courteous manner using the Bank Service Excellence Standards.
- Accept deposits, cash checks, accept loan payments, and sell official checks.
- Maintain an approved level of cash.
- Ask questions to identify customer needs, enhance relationships, and refer customers to appropriate Community Banking team members.
- Prepare daily settlement and proof of cash transactions.
- Balance the cash drawer accurately and efficiently each day.
- Support adherence to internal policies, procedures, and practices related to risk management and the bank’s safety and soundness.
- May mentor new associates and generate referrals to internal business partners.
