About The Position

The Communications Specialist supports their Manager and other Communications team members in executing communications plans for assigned focus areas. The role activates communications campaigns, understands how plan elements work together to maximize impact, and delivers plans accurately in coordination with other team members. The Specialist collaborates with internal stakeholders and provides communications support to leaders and regional or system clients identified by the organization. The position is based at 541 N Fairbanks Ct, Chicago, Illinois, and follows a Monday–Friday hybrid schedule with two days per week in the office. This role has no direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience in communications, marketing, and project management.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Basic knowledge of print production.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft applications.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation.
• A highly motivated, proactive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support a Manager or Program Director in activating communications campaigns.
• Contribute to the planning, execution, and delivery of tactics for comprehensive communications campaigns.
• Develop content, including authoring and editing articles, letters, emails, and other communications, and overseeing design elements.
• Provide ad hoc writing support to team members and clients.
• Create and manage timelines for each communications tactic to ensure delivery.
• Proofread materials and obtain appropriate management, legal/risk, and other approvals.
• Use project management software to manage programs.
• Monitor the effectiveness of communications tactics using analytics and other measurement methods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
