About The Position

The Commissions Associate is a important role within the finance department. The primary function is focusing on managing and tracking commission-related activities. The role will serve as the custodian of commissions expenses, ensuring all processes are accurate, timely, and compliant. A key role in supporting our financial advisors by maintaining reliable payout systems and data integrity.   • Bachelor's degree preferred. Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience/education).
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, or administrative roles preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data analysis). Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Salesforce) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts, such as commissions, deductions, and payouts; willingness to learn industry-specific regulations (e.g., FINRA/SEC guidelines).
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Track and monitor commissions, including deductions, payout rates, timing, and overall expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain and update payee information in our systems, verifying details such as contact information, tax IDs, and banking details to prevent errors in disbursements.
  • Act as the primary custodian for commissions expenses, reconciling records, identifying discrepancies, and preparing reports for review by the Assistant Controller.
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of commission statements, ensuring timely payouts and resolving any issues related to calculations or delays.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Accounting, Compliance, and Advisor Services) to gather data and support audits or inquiries related to commissions.
  • Utilize tracking tools and software (e.g., Excel, accounting systems) to generate reports on commission trends, expenses, and performance metrics.
  • Perform routine data entry, validation, and maintenance tasks to uphold the integrity of commission-related databases.
  • Support ad-hoc projects, such as process improvements or system updates, as directed by the Assistant Controller.
