(Cx) Commissioning & Start Up Technician

Overwatch Mission Critical•Claude, TX

About The Position

Overwatch Mission Critical is seeking a licensed Electrical Journeyman to perform commissioning duties at a data center construction site. The role validates electrical systems, conducts load bank testing on UPS systems, and ensures critical infrastructure operates according to design specifications. Work takes place primarily in active data center construction areas, indoors and outdoors, and includes unfinished buildings, temporary field offices, staging areas, and partially completed infrastructure. Site conditions may include uneven terrain, limited accessibility, and ongoing construction activity. The position requires a current Journeyman Electrician license, NFPA 70E training, and 4–20 years of electrical experience, including construction experience with an emphasis on industrial or mission-critical work and 1–2 years of start-up and commissioning experience. The technician will work with project engineers, contractors, and site personnel to test electrical systems, document findings, troubleshoot issues, and verify critical and backup power systems before handover. A valid driver’s license is required for roles involving on-site presence or travel between work locations. The role requires walking, standing, bending, climbing stairs or ladders, and navigating uneven or obstructed construction areas for extended periods. It also requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 50 pounds; driving between job sites; and access to raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces. Workers may encounter outdoor weather, dust, noise, vibration, and odors. Required PPE includes a hard hat, safety vest, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots. Reasonable accommodations may be made provided they do not create safety hazards, impede essential mobility in active work zones, or require modification of facilities not controlled by Overwatch.
