About The Position

Nordstrom is hiring for a seasonal commission sales role in Men's Apparel. The position focuses on delivering excellent customer service, building relationships, meeting sales goals, and helping customers create coordinated wardrobes suited to their lifestyles, careers, and special occasions. Sales expertise spans sportswear, suiting, and finishing pieces such as belts, socks, underwear, shoes, and accessories. Sales employees are expected to provide styling and fit guidance, develop a personal customer base through in-store interactions and digital outreach, and build lasting customer relationships using Nordstrom's follow-up methods and tools. The role also involves maintaining a customer-ready department, staying informed about products and trends, and contributing to an effective, positive team environment. Schedule hours vary with business needs and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and event shifts, with occasional support for other departments.

Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to handle bulky or awkwardly shaped merchandise, including reaching overhead to lift items.
Ability to regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

Deliver Nordstrom's 5-Point Selling Standard: Say Hello, Small Talk, Be Helpful & Sell, Fashion Authority, and Follow-up.
Build and grow a personal customer base through in-store interactions, outreach, and digital tools.
Provide honest, confident style and fit feedback to earn customer trust and loyalty.
Set and achieve personal sales goals and remain accountable for results.
Keep the department customer-ready through stocking, re-merchandising, price markdowns, merchandise recovery, and participation in the bi-annual inventory count.
Stay current on product knowledge and trends to serve as a trusted style resource.
Communicate openly, contribute to a positive team environment, and help keep the department productive.
Build lasting customer relationships using the 2-2-2 Method, Nordy Club enrollment, and the Personal Book customer-tracking tool.
Work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and peak periods; occasionally support other departments.
