About The Position

Santander US is hiring undergraduate students for its 2027 Commercial Summer Internship Program, based in Boston, Massachusetts. Beginning in June 2027, the program introduces interns to Santander Commercial through training and hands-on work. Interns support business clients through relationship-driven banking solutions, work with experienced professionals, and develop technical, analytical, professional, and interpersonal skills while learning about the banking industry, the Commercial sector, and the bank’s operations.

Interns are placed in a specific business area according to their skills, experiences, and business needs. Potential placements include Commercial Banking Lending and Commercial Real Estate Lending. Work may involve customer financial analysis and monitoring, customer outreach, analysis of the client base and competitors, competitive benchmarking, client onboarding, market intelligence, and small research initiatives. Interns are paired with a mentor for guidance and networking throughout the summer. The program is intended for undergraduates expecting to graduate in May or June 2028.

Requirements

• Be an undergraduate student in a four-year program with an expected graduation date of May or June 2028.
• Study Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, or an equivalent field.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.
• Demonstrate leadership through campus involvement, work experience, or extracurricular activities.
• Be highly motivated and results-oriented, with a desire to exceed expectations.
• Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and courage.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills and interact professionally, transparently, and effectively with people at all levels.
• Have strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to develop solutions to complex challenges.
• Be able to multitask as required.
• Be able to work independently on special projects and contribute effectively to a team environment.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring employer sponsorship to commence employment.

Responsibilities

• Support meaningful business initiatives alongside experienced Commercial Banking professionals.
• Contribute to customer financial analysis and monitoring.
• Support customer outreach.
• Analyze the client base and competitors and conduct competitive benchmarking.
• Assist with client onboarding, market intelligence, and small research initiatives.
• Participate in training and hands-on work to learn about Santander Commercial, the banking industry, and the bank’s operations.

• Work with a mentor and build a professional network at Santander.
