About The Position

Carvana is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to provide legal support and lease administration. This role involves drafting, reviewing, and managing various legal documents related to commercial real estate, under the supervision of a Manager. The paralegal will conduct lease reviews, interpret provisions, and support lease administration workflows such as estoppels, SNDAs, and access requests. The position also supports drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial real estate leases, renewals, terminations, and extensions, and coordinates lease commencement and site readiness efforts. The role requires partnering closely with the Manager and Real Estate Legal team, identifying efficiencies in legal workflows, and enabling attorney resources to focus on higher-complexity matters.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. In lieu of a degree, a combination of relevant experience and education will be considered.
  • A paralegal certificate or similar credential is a meaningful plus.
  • 8+ years of directly relevant experience in commercial real estate — lease administration, transactional commercial real estate, or a corporate in-house/legal environment with substantial commercial property exposure (office, retail, or industrial). Multifamily or residential property management experience alone does not meet the bar.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently review, interpret, and issue-spot commercial leases, notices, amendments and related contracts or real property documents, with sound judgment on when a matter requires escalation to a team lead or attorney.
  • Comfortable navigating sensitive, complex landlord/tenant and counterparty communications with professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with real estate, portfolio management, facilities, market operations, expansion and launch and legal teams, and to influence outcomes and drive projects forward without formal authority over those teams.
  • Proficiency in lease interpretation, contract review, and legal notice drafting; comfort with risk analysis and identifying when matters require escalation to an attorney.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook); proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, Wrike (and similar project management) and other technology platforms and tools.
  • Core proficiency utilizing AI tools with proven ability to create tested and reliable work product, leveraging AI resources responsibly to simplify legal and operational processes and tasks.
  • Extensive organizational skills, advanced attention to detail, and strong initiative to independently complete tasks that drive greater team efficiencies.
  • Enthusiasm and energy to thrive in a rapidly growing, fast-paced environment where roles continually adapt as the company evolves.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
