About The Position
Calling all college students! Planning to intern during the summer of 2027? Kick-off your career at Selective Insurance by joining our award-winning Ignite Internship program at our corporate office in Short Hills, NJ. The Ignite Internship Program is an 11-week, full-time experience that offers a sneak peek into the world of insurance. Level up your skills and knowledge by diving into your business area of choice. Throughout the program, you’ll get a feel for the corporate environment with on-the-job assignments, team projects, exposure to senior leadership & executives, and even a community volunteer day. All of this and more will help you build meaningful relationships throughout the organization. Come and make summer 2027 one to remember with Selective! The Product Organization's Agile teams work on Selective’s Commercial Lines Products, which include a broad range of insurance solutions for businesses of all sizes. These products cover essential areas such as Workers Compensation, Business Owner’s Policy (BOP), Commercial Auto, and more. With the opportunity to work with one or more of these teams, you’ll gain a wide array of experience working on the business side of large software development projects and will contribute to the success of those projects. This is a hybrid position, so applicants must be within commuting distance of our location in Hartford, CT or Short Hills, NJ.
Requirements
- Must be a current college student to qualify.
- Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
- High School Diploma required.
- College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred.
- Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.
Responsibilities
- Analyze Selective’s current Commercial products.
- Write requirements for future enhancements.
- Perform User Acceptance Testing of completed work.
- Assist product group’s Agile team
