The Enterprise Risk Management and Reinsurance team at Selective Insurance is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the company’s financial stability and operations. They develop strategies to manage these risks and ensure the company is adequately protected through reinsurance arrangements. An internship in this team offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in risk assessment and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Must be a current college student pursuing a degree in accounting to qualify (Class of 2028 preferred).
  • Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Reinsurance and Reinsurance Accounting teams in identifying, evaluating, and reporting on legacy treaty commutations.
  • Assist in reorganizing, documenting, and mapping the internal shared drive structure.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support business objectives.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving departmental and organizational goals.
  • Communicate facts, analyses, and recommendations effectively through both written and verbal communications.
  • Assist with any ad-hoc projects as needed.
