The Enterprise Risk Management and Reinsurance (ERM) team at Selective Insurance is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact the company’s financial stability and operations. They develop strategies to manage these risks and ensure the company is adequately protected through reinsurance arrangements. An internship in this team offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in risk assessment and strategic planning.

Requirements

Must be a current college student to qualify (Class of 2028 preferred).
Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
College credit can be earned depending on your institution's requirements.
High School Diploma required.
Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Support the ERM team in identifying, assessing, and reporting on emerging risks.
Update stress tests and risk reports using internally approved methodologies and processes.
Assist with reinsurance placement analysis as needed.
Develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships in order to achieve business goals.
Demonstrate a sense of urgency and commitment to achieving business goals.
Convey facts and information effectively in both verbal and written communications.
