About The Position

This is an 11-week, full-time experience that offers a sneak peek how I.T. intersects with insurance. Level up your skills and knowledge by diving into your department of choice. The Information Technology department is seeking motivated, self-directed individuals to intern on essential teams such as Application Delivery, Customer Experience, Cybersecurity and Information Management. Information technology is crucial in insurance companies for optimizing operations, enhancing customer service, and managing data securely, making it an exciting field for computer science students who want to apply their skills in a dynamic and impactful industry. As a summer intern, you will work directly with experienced professionals to gain hands-on, relevant experience. Please note, this is a hybrid position, therefore, applicants must be within commuting distance of our Short Hills, NJ location.

Requirements

  • Must be a current college student majoring in Computer Science or a related field to qualify (rising juniors and seniors, preferred).
  • Be someone who takes ownership over work, has the ability to self-motivate and executes on delegated tasks.
  • Demonstrates passion in Data, Analytics, and AI
  • Demonstrates an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • College credit can be earned depending on your institution’s requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support data integration and automation initiatives by assisting with the design, development, and testing of data pipelines and automated processes that reduce manual effort, improve timeliness, and increase data reliability for analytics and reporting.
  • Analyze current-state data workflows and recommend improvements by documenting existing processes, identifying bottlenecks or dependencies, and helping evaluate modern solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Enable reporting and business insights by preparing, transforming, and organizing data for dashboards, reporting, and analysis, including support for proof-of-concept efforts tied to Power BI and other analytics platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytics, customer experience, regulatory, and knowledge management stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify data needs, and support delivery of project outcomes.
  • Contribute to project research and recommendations by comparing tools, summarizing findings, documenting pros and cons, and helping prepare presentations or recommendation materials for leadership review.
