About The Position

The Commercial Installation Technician oversees and performs installation of commercial security systems, including intrusion detection, fire detection, video surveillance, and access control. The role works with sales, operations, managers, and other team members to complete installations on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards. Installations may be performed independently or as part of a team. The technician also trains and mentors junior installers, follows safety protocols, interacts professionally with owners and end users, and trains stakeholders to operate systems. The position includes commissioning cloud-based systems on users’ mobile devices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of commercial security installation experience.
• Willingness to obtain NICET certifications as required.
• Possess or be able to obtain fire alarm technician licenses for Ohio and West Virginia.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform commercial security system installations alone or as part of a team.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
• Install cabling, field devices, and controls according to specifications.
• Ensure installations are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Coordinate with managers and team members to keep installations on schedule.
• Train and mentor junior installers.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Interact professionally with owners and end users, including training stakeholders in system operation.
• Commission cloud-based systems on users’ mobile devices and train users in their operation.
