About The Position

Guardian is hiring a Commercial Installation Technician to install commercial security systems. The posting describes the role as overseeing installations of intrusion detection, fire detection, video surveillance, and access control systems. The technician works with sales, operations, managers, and other team members to complete installations on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards. The role also includes mentoring junior installers, following safety protocols, interacting professionally with customers, and training users to operate installed systems.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of commercial security installation experience.
Willingness to obtain NICET certifications as required.
Possess or be able to obtain fire alarm technician licenses for Ohio and West Virginia.
Strong leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Work independently or as part of a team to complete installations.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.
Install cabling, field devices, and controls according to specifications.
Ensure installations are completed on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
Coordinate with managers and team members to keep installations on schedule.
Train and mentor junior installers.
Ensure safety protocols are followed.
Interact professionally with owners and end users, including training stakeholders in system operation.
Commission cloud-based systems on users’ mobile devices and train them to operate those systems.
