About The Position

Great Lakes Service is seeking experienced Commercial HVAC/R Service Technicians to serve Chicago and surrounding areas. Technicians troubleshoot, diagnose, install, and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment at customer locations, providing prompt service and excellent customer care. The role includes maintaining a service vehicle, ordering parts, identifying opportunities with existing accounts and new customers, and participating in required after-hours and weekend on-call schedules. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with swing shifts available. Pay is $25.00 to $50.00+ per hour, based on experience. A sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 is available for qualifying technicians.

Requirements

• At least three years of prior experience in commercial kitchen repair or equivalent military technical roles.
• Electrical, electronic, and mechanical skills.
• Excellent customer communication skills.
• Successful completion of a drug screen and criminal background screening.
• At least 18 years of age.
• A driving record that aligns with the company's safety standards.
• EPA Universal Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and meet customer expectations on every service call.
• Complete service calls promptly.

• Maintain the service vehicle and order necessary parts.
