Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician
About The Position
Mr. C Refrigeration is hiring an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to independently service commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment in the field. The role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining commercial and industrial heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and cold-storage equipment. Technicians travel to customer locations throughout an assigned service area, communicate findings and recommendations to customers, document service work, and maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment. This is a hands-on field position with regular physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds. Work may require climbing ladders and working at elevated heights, both indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions. Pay is $35–$55 per hour based on experience. The position is full-time and offers overtime eligibility, commission opportunities, on-call pay, weekly direct deposit, PTO, paid holidays, access to group insurance and benefit plans, 401(k) eligibility, and ongoing technical training and development.
Requirements
- EPA Certification is required.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience servicing commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily service schedule.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, push, and pull; lift or move up to 50 pounds; climb ladders and work at elevated heights; and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Three or more years of commercial HVAC/R service experience is preferred.
- Technical school HVAC/R training or equivalent field experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
- Service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
- Identify the root cause of equipment failures and complete necessary repairs.
- Test systems after repairs to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Clearly communicate findings, repair needs, and recommendations to customers.
- Complete service documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Travel to customer locations throughout the assigned service area.
