About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Commercial Engine Maintenance Instructor for its Customer Training Center (CTC) in East Hartford, CT. This role is responsible for delivering maintenance training on Commercial Engine programs, including Mature Commercial Engine (MCE) Programs and all PW1000G Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) Engine Programs. The training is provided to internal P&W customers and external Airline/MRO customers. Instruction covers areas such as engine Familiarization, Line & Base Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Jet Engine Fundamentals, Borescope, Engine Change, FOD, and human factors. The instructor will also support the training team as a subject matter expert (SME), design courseware, evaluate content, and record quality escapes. Additionally, the role involves fielding customer requests, directing them to appropriate support, and participating in cross-functional teams for continuous improvement of training operations and portfolio expansion. The position requires some domestic and international travel (up to 10-15%), the ability to work with diverse cultures and adult learners, and a self-motivated, team-oriented, positive personality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and 5 years of experience in engine maintenance and troubleshooting in the commercial aviation industry at the flight-line (A1 line & base maintenance) level.
  • OR Advanced degree and 3 years of experience in engine maintenance and troubleshooting in the commercial aviation industry at the flight-line (A1 line & base maintenance) level.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Desire and patience to work with adult learners.
  • Self-motivated, team oriented and have a positive personality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering presentations to all levels of leadership.
  • Understand the voice of the customer on operational business needs supported via engine maintenance training.
  • Ability to customize standard training to meet customer needs.
  • Human Factors and foreign object damage expertise and experience.
  • Engine Maintenance knowledge and experience of P&W engine products to include the PW2000, PW4000, V2500, PW1100G-JM, PW1400G-JM, PW1500G and PW1900G.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Commercial Engine maintenance training for Mature Commercial Engine (MCE) Programs and PW1000G Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) Engine Programs.
  • Train internal P&W customers and external Airline/MRO customers at the Customer Training Center, virtually, and at customer worldwide locations.
  • Instruct on topics including engine Familiarization, Line & Base Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Jet Engine Fundamentals, Borescope, Engine Change, FOD, and human factors.
  • Serve as a maintenance instructor and subject matter expert (SME) for selected P&W engine models.
  • Design courseware in accordance with the P&W CTC Instructional Systems Design (ISD) Process.
  • Evaluate course material for content and accuracy.
  • Record quality escapes to support P&W quality system requirements.
  • Field customer requests and direct customers to appropriate P&W support personnel.
  • Participate or lead cross-functional teams focused on continuous improvement of training operations, company initiatives, or broadening the training portfolio.
