Colorist, Licensed Cosmetologist
About The Position
Licensed Colorists at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar deliver quality hair color services and excellent guest care. They provide expert consultations, recommend hair care products and color, perform blowout services, and promote unlimited roots memberships. Colorists help create a focused and friendly work environment by connecting with guests and coworkers, meeting daily business demands, keeping the workplace clean and organized, and supporting team members. This role reports to the Manager and may be full-time or part-time depending on business needs. Availability during peak times is required. Compensation includes base hourly pay, commissions, and tips. Potential earnings for this location range from $37.50 to $39.50 per hour; actual compensation depends on factors including Hair Color Bar performance, tenure, and time behind the chair.
Requirements
- Active cosmetology license in the state where applying.
- At least 1 year of experience as a colorist behind the chair in a salon environment.
- Effective communication, strong problem-solving, and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
- Comfort operating point-of-sale systems.
- Fluency in English.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and develop teamwork skills to provide a guest experience aligned with the company values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
- Provide consultations and all menu services, including shampooing, conditioning, blow drying, flat ironing, curling, and chemical services, to high quality standards and guest satisfaction.
- Attend to guest needs and help select suitable products and color while adapting to business needs and keeping bookings on time.
- Contribute to monthly sales goals and key performance indicators, including retail sales, services, and memberships.
- Maintain company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and company asset security.
- Follow Madison Reed systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Grow Hair Color Bar revenue by increasing average service tickets through additional services, memberships, subscriptions, and home hair care products.
- Participate in ongoing training and stay current on Madison Reed products and service offerings.
- Support Assistant Colorists’ training and development through demonstration, coaching, and care.
