Colorist, Licensed Cosmetologist
About The Position
Licensed Colorists at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar deliver quality services and excellent guest care. The role involves helping guests choose the right color and executing services with care and precision. Colorists are experts in Madison Reed consultations, hair care products, blowout services, and unlimited roots memberships, while contributing to a focused, friendly, clean, and organized work environment. The position reports to the Manager and may be full-time or part-time depending on business needs. Availability at peak times is required. Compensation consists of base hourly pay, commissions, and tips. Potential earnings for this location are $31–$33 per hour; actual compensation depends on factors including Hair Color Bar performance, tenure, and time behind the chair.
Requirements
- Active cosmetology license in the state where applying.
- At least 1 year of experience as a colorist behind the chair in a salon environment.
- Effective communication, strong problem-solving, and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
- Comfort operating point-of-sale systems.
- Fluency in English.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate and develop teamwork skills to provide a guest experience aligned with the company values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
- Provide consultations and all menu services, including shampooing, conditioning, blow drying, flat ironing, curling, and chemical services, to high-quality standards and guest satisfaction.
- Attend to guest needs to help select appropriate products and color while remaining flexible to business needs and on time for bookings.
- Contribute to monthly sales goals and key performance indicators, including retail sales, services, and memberships.
- Maintain company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and company asset security.
- Follow Madison Reed systems, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Drive Hair Color Bar revenue by increasing average service tickets through additional services, memberships, subscriptions, and home hair care sales.
- Participate in ongoing training and stay current on Madison Reed products and service offerings.
- Support Assistant Colorists' training and development through demonstration, coaching, and care.
