About The Position

The Colon & Rectal Surgeon will provide full-spectrum colorectal and general surgical care to adult and geriatric populations. This role involves performing a variety of procedures, including robotic-assisted and minimally invasive surgery, screening and diagnostic colonoscopies, and general surgical cases. The position includes inpatient rounding, outpatient consultations, and follow-up visits. The surgeon will participate in a 1:4 General Surgery call rotation and utilize the Epic EMR system for all clinical documentation. This is a permanent, full-time position within a growing service line, reporting to the Chief of Surgery / Medical Director.

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Colon and Rectal Surgery
Active DEA
BLS and ACLS required
Indiana medical license or eligibility to obtain
Proficiency in robotic-assisted surgery required
Strong interpersonal skills
Commitment to quality care
Ability to work within a collaborative surgical team

Nice To Haves

Prior inpatient and outpatient surgical experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide full-spectrum colorectal and general surgical care, including robotic-assisted and minimally invasive procedures
Perform inpatient rounding, outpatient consultations, and follow-up visits
Participate in General Surgery call rotation (1:4)
Utilize Epic EMR for all clinical documentation and care coordination
Collaborate with nurse practitioners, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams
Participate in clinical quality and performance improvement initiatives
Contribute to the growth and leadership of the surgical program within Community Healthcare System
