About The Position

Carle Health is seeking an additional Board Eligible/Board Certified Colon-Rectal Surgeon to join their practice at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. The role involves the full spectrum of elective and emergent colon and rectal surgery, including IBD, anorectal disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, diverticulitis, colon cancer, and multidisciplinary rectal cancer care. The surgeon will join a collaborative team of 5 physicians and 2 APPs focused on high-quality, evidence-based care, enhanced recovery protocols, and participation in ISQIC, NAPRC, and industry-sponsored research. The position offers a Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. schedule with dedicated clinic and OR/procedure time, and a 1:4 shared call rotation. The facility boasts a state-of-the-art Digestive Health Institute with 10 endoscopy suites and dedicated colonoscopy blocks. There are opportunities for teaching General Surgery Residents and medical students, with faculty appointment eligibility through the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, as well as collaborative research opportunities with the University of Illinois and the Biomedical Research Center.

Requirements

BE/BC Colon-Rectal Surgeon
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of post-fellowship clinical practice preferred, but new graduates may apply.
Dedicated clinical interest or advanced experience in pelvic floor disorders preferred but not required.

Responsibilities
