About The Position

Marriott Vacations Worldwide offers a comprehensive internship program at one of our stunning resort locations, available in 3- or 6-month durations. The program is built around gaining in-person, on-site work experience within a designated department (Housekeeping, Recreation, & Food & Beverage) at one of our premier resort locations. Interns will receive personalized guidance and support from experienced property leaders, participate in exclusive sessions with senior company executives, spend a day shadowing a different department, conduct interviews with senior leaders, collaborate on a meaningful project, and join interactive online sessions. Interns will also connect with fellow interns through a dedicated social media platform. This is a fully on-site internship at one of the designated Marriott Vacations Worldwide resort locations in California. Candidates must be actively pursuing a college degree. While students majoring in Hospitality or Business Management are preferred, applicants from other academic disciplines are also encouraged to apply. A valid driver’s license may be required. The internship is available for Summer 2027, with timelines potentially varying. Housing accommodations and relocation are the students’ responsibility. Interns will enjoy special rates and perks at Marriott properties, receive holiday pay, and will be given priority consideration for future career opportunities upon successful completion of the program. The wage range for internships in California is $16.90-$23.05/hour depending on location and department. Requirements

  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • This is a fully on-site internship.
  • Candidates must be actively pursuing a college degree at any level.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required, depending on scope of role.
  • Interns must be able to reach overhead and below knee level, and perform physical activities such as bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Interns must also be capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
  • The ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance is required.

  • Students majoring in Hospitality or Business Management are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop skills in villa cleaning and perform core tasks to ensure guest accommodations are clean, comfortable, and up to brand standards.
  • Learn about the roles and responsibilities of other housekeeping roles.
  • Observe and lead room inspections.
  • Observe and learn key components of inventory control and supply ordering.
  • Understand the importance of collaboration with other departments in preparing for guest arrivals.
  • Rotate through various food outlets (e.g., pool bar, marketplace).
  • Gain experience in both front and back of house operations.
  • Learn key roles such as Server, Food prep/Cook, Expeditor, Bar Staff.
  • Observe and learn key components of inventory control, placing orders and handling alcohol responsibly.
  • Partnership with Recreation team for themed events, holidays, and property celebrations.
  • Promote fun resort activities and facilities to guests of all ages.
  • Lead and support activities like trivia, pool games, outdoor fun, and educational programs.
  • Help with setup and execution of special events such as food tastings and local storytelling.
  • Understand the importance of interacting directly with guests to create fun and memorable experiences.
  • Learn how to plan and organize daily and special activities.
  • Observe and support areas like health and fitness, childcare, and team leadership.
