College Intern - Airport Operations Administrative Analyst (ORD)
About The Position
Envoy Air is seeking a college intern to support its ORD Airport Operations & Administration team as an analyst. The paid summer internship lasts 11 weeks and is based at the company’s office at Chicago O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. The intern will work alongside airport leadership and operational teams to analyze performance, identify trends, and support improvement initiatives. Areas of exposure include Hub Control Center operations, departure and arrival performance, delay analysis, staffing and resource utilization, baggage performance, and operational planning. The internship may also involve supporting operational readiness initiatives related to airport construction and terminal transitions, including evaluating changes to facilities, gates, staffing, equipment, and operational processes. The intern will complete a project focused on a real ORD operational opportunity and present findings and recommendations to ORD Operations leadership. The stated pay rate is $22 per hour.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in business management, general management, aviation management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Be classified as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student upon the start of the internship.
- Have a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average.
- Be located in the Chicago metroplex.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Be able to present data to all levels of management.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
- Be willing to travel.
- Be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand English.
- Possess the legal right to work in the United States.
- Be able to work in a team environment, prioritize work and projects to meet deadlines and objectives, work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on time, and be self-motivated.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar data-visualization tools.
- Experience with data analysis, forecasting, process improvement, or operational planning.
- Interest in airline operations, airport management, operations research, or analytics.
- Experience with artificial intelligence to support automation, reporting, or analyst work.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, dynamic formulas, and macros.
- Experience translating operational data into actionable recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Analyze operational performance data, including on-time performance, delay drivers, baggage performance, and operational reliability, to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Analyze administrative and workforce processes to identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations that translate operational data into clear, actionable insights.
- Maintain clear documentation of process changes, workflows, and automation standards.
- Train and support ORD team members in adopting new tools and processes.
- Support operational readiness planning for terminal construction, facility changes, gate transitions, and other operational changes, including impacts to staffing, equipment, baggage processes, and resources.
- Complete an internship project focused on an ORD operational opportunity and present findings and recommendations to ORD Operations leadership.
