About The Position

The National Research Council (NRC) is Canada's largest research and innovation organization, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of science and engineering. This role is for a Collaborative Program Support Officer (CPSO) within the National Program Office (NPO), part of the Industry and Innovation Division. Requirements

  • Successful completion of secondary school education according to provincial/territorial standards
  • Recent experience (within the last 5 years) in preparing, amending, validating, and/or processing contract/agreements or other legal documents
  • Recent experience (within the last 5 years) in contract work and/or in accounting functions such as processing of invoices for accounts payable or receivable
  • Experience providing service to clients in the interpretation and application of directives, policies, or financial procedures
  • Recent experience using Microsoft Office, in particular Excel, Word, and Outlook at an intermediate level
  • Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in a relevant discipline
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor Degree
  • Experience with a financial accounting system such as SAP, MS Dynamics and/or a client relationship management system (CRM)
  • Experience with Government Grant and Contribution agreements
  • Knowledge of Grants and Contribution agreement management and/or knowledge of NRC programs, policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Responding to client inquiries
  • Reviewing claims and processing payments in the NRC financial system in accordance with the terms of grant and contribution agreements
  • Producing financial and other statistical reports
  • Administering contribution agreements to academic institutions, firms, and organizations, including preparing and reviewing funding agreements and amendments
  • Undertaking special projects or assignments
