About The Position

The Collaboration Technology Technician is responsible for providing courteous and timely audio visual and video production services to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience providing support around IT systems (e.g. operating systems; setup and configuration of computers and printers in a networked environment; maintenance of hardware components and computer peripherals) preferred
  • Knowledge of Video Conference & AV equipment, Webex, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams operations, with Cisco infrastructure experience being a plus.
  • Knowledge of conferencing and collaboration ecosystems (room systems, peripherals, and control) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of audio and video components, signal types, cables preferred.
  • Proficiency in programs as PowerPoint, One Drive, and Outlook preferred.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or overtime in support of campus events preferred.
  • Ability to assemble and set up a variety of A/V equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and close support tickets; ensure timely response and resolution.
  • Act as the first responder for A/V issues, including operating systems, projection, audio, and software configurations. Troubleshoot and resolve most issues independently, escalating unresolved cases with thorough documentation.
  • Deliver reliable and timely A/V services for campus events, ensuring the satisfaction of event sponsors and participants.
  • Assist with inventory, maintenance, and organization of A/V equipment, including loaner equipment, new installations, and storage areas.
  • Performing routine preventative maintenance.
  • Work with AV Engineering and leadership groups to assess, prioritize, and address outages, change actions, and special requests.
  • Greet clients before event and provide clear instructions on how to operate equipment.
  • Provide continued communication with client to ensure success of all events.
  • Operate audio visual equipment including projectors, cameras, video switchers, audio mixers, computers, and wireless microphones.
  • Other duties as assigned.
