About The Position

The Coffee Shop Barista provides friendly customer service, prepares and replenishes coffee shop products, and helps keep the department clean, stocked, and operating smoothly. The role involves working in a fast-paced store coffee shop, taking customer orders in person and by phone, answering questions, processing payments where applicable, and supporting teammates to ensure a positive customer experience. Training and support are provided; prior experience is not required.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Ability to communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep pace in a busy coffee shop environment.
Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.

Nice To Haves

Up to six months of similar or related work experience.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding, helpful service.
Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, help customers find products, and answer questions.
Prepare and replenish coffee shop products throughout the shift.
Monitor product freshness and appearance and follow or develop a production list to meet daily needs.
Handle food safely and keep the work area clean, neat, and up to department standards.
Check in products, put them away, and review invoices as needed.
Operate the department register and process payments where applicable.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
Follow the company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
