About The Position

The Coffee Shop Barista provides friendly customer service while preparing and replenishing coffee shop products, keeping the department clean and stocked, and ensuring customers have a positive experience. The role involves taking orders at the counter and by phone, answering questions, monitoring product freshness and appearance, handling food safely, processing payments, and supporting teammates. Training is provided; prior experience is not required.

Requirements

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Basic math skills for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Clear, friendly communication with customers and teammates.
Ability to stay organized and keep pace in a busy coffee shop environment.
Less than a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.

Up to six months of similar or related work experience.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide helpful service, including learning customers’ names and making visits positive.
Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, help customers find products, and answer questions.
Prepare and replenish coffee shop products as needed.
Monitor product freshness and appearance and follow or develop a production list to meet daily needs.
Handle food safely and maintain a clean, neat work area that meets department standards.
Check in products, put them away, and review invoices as needed.
Operate the department register and process payments where applicable.
Remove trash promptly and keep the department tidy.
Work with teammates to provide a smooth, positive customer experience.
Follow the company dress code, hygiene standards, and policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
