About The Position

Fresh Roasted Coffee is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Coffee Roaster to join its production team at the Sunbury, Pennsylvania coffee roasting and packaging facility. This hands-on production role involves operating commercial roasting equipment and producing consistently high-quality coffee in accordance with roast profiles, production schedules, and quality specifications. The role also supports packaging and other production needs, and involves staying active throughout the shift. The position is full-time on the second shift, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., at $19 per hour. Requirements

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work precisely under pressure.
Ability to learn roasting software, including Cropster.
Ability to troubleshoot roasting issues and analyze data.
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods.
Passion for coffee and commitment to continuous improvement.
Excellent time-management skills.
Safe forklift operation; training is available.

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
A basic understanding of mechanical processes, particularly for maintaining equipment, is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor commercial roasting equipment according to production schedules and quality standards.
Produce roast profiles that meet flavor and quality specifications across large volumes.
Conduct quality checks on roasted coffee, assessing aroma, flavor, and consistency.
Maintain accurate roast logs and production records.
Maintain an accurate database and production information using roasting software.
Clean and maintain roasting equipment and the work area.
Collaborate with the production team to meet daily roasting targets.
Operate a forklift to transfer coffee from inventory to the roasting area.
Assist with bagging and sealing roasted coffee as needed to meet production needs.
Follow safety and food-handling protocols.
Perform other duties as assigned.
