About The Position

WM is hiring a CNG / Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair diesel vehicles and, at some locations, CNG trucks. The role is based at the Fayetteville, North Carolina hauling site, in a repair and maintenance shop, with work also taking place outside. Mechanics use modern tools and procedures to service vehicles and equipment supporting WM customers.

Requirements

• Two years of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks.
• Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times.
• Assist senior mechanics with project work.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards, and follow established safety procedures.
