A CNC Set-up Operator sets up and operates Lathe & Mills to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts, applying knowledge of machine shop and procedures, shop mathematics, machineability of materials, and layout techniques. This role requires the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodation for qualified individuals with disabilities. The operator will study blueprints, sketches, drawings, or specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. They will operate a variety of machine tools and equipment, perform a wide range of machining operations on various materials, and inspect work using precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet drawing specifications. The position also involves maintaining a clean and orderly work area, performing equipment checks and maintenance, and documenting all setup and work performed. This role operates under minimal supervision and requires knowledge of G-Code and M-Code controls, as well as the ability to perform speed and feed calculations.
