About The Position

Responsible for performing basic CNC machine set-up and operation by loading preset CNC programs, making minor approved adjustments, and producing acceptable product in accordance with work instructions, quality requirements, and established manufacturing processes. The role involves operating CNC manufacturing equipment, conducting basic in-process inspections, making routine machine adjustments and performing basic preventative maintenance, and moving product with material-handling equipment. The employee is also responsible for keeping the work area, machines, tools, and equipment clean.

Requirements

• One year of relevant experience.
• Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions.
• Intermediate math skills, including algebra and geometry, and computer skills.
• Ability to learn and understand basic CNC program structure, G- and M-code concepts, and CAD/CAM outputs used in established production processes.
• Ability to understand and use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Attention to detail and excellent listening skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic CNC machine set-up by loading preset CNC programs and making minor approved adjustments to support proper machine operation.
• Operate CNC manufacturing equipment to produce acceptable product according to work instructions, set-up documentation, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
• Perform basic in-process inspections using established methods; record results and notify appropriate personnel of defects, dimensional concerns, or process deviations.
• Perform basic machine adjustments, such as offsets or taper adjustments, and routine preventative maintenance, such as changing coolants, filters, and lubricants.
• Stack and transport product using a hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, crane, or hoist.
• Clean the work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
