About The Position

The CNC Set-Up I is responsible for loading and making minor adjustments to preset CNC programs and operating manufacturing machinery to produce acceptable product. This role works within a team environment to meet departmental goals and maintains a clean work area. The position requires attention to detail, following work instructions, inspecting products, and using required personal protective equipment in designated areas.

Requirements

• Three years of relevant experience.
• Ability to understand and act on verbal and written instructions.
• Intermediate math skills, including algebra and geometry, and computer skills.
• Ability to learn, understand, and use CAD/CAM programs and G and M codes.
• Ability to understand and use Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Attention to detail and excellent listening skills.
• Ability to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Download preset CNC programs and make minor program adjustments to direct machine-operation sequences.
• Operate CNC manufacturing equipment to produce acceptable product according to work instructions.
• Inspect parts for defects during in-process inspection, record results, and notify the appropriate person of deviations when needed.
• Perform basic machine adjustments, such as offsets or setting tapers, and basic preventative maintenance, such as changing coolants and filters.
• Stack and transport product using a hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, crane, or hoist.
• Clean work areas, machines, tools, and equipment.
• Wear required personal protective equipment at all times in areas where it is mandatory.
• Work within a team environment to meet departmental goals.
