About The Position

The CNC Programmer I is responsible for all CNC programs for manufacturing equipment directly impacting on the overall performance objectives for the company and compliance to AS9100 and NADCAP requirements and/or division. This position significantly impacts Rexnord’s ability in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is a non-exempt hourly technical position.

  • Minimum 2 years of CNC Machining experience is required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to extract critical data and analyze data to make informed business decisions
  • Excellent computer skills (CAD/CAM, Auto Cad, Esprit, Solid Works, word processing, graphics, spreadsheet, etc.)
  • Familiar in- G and M code editing, Macro and variable style programming, multi axis function(s) and Fanuc/Okuma/ Mori/Mitsubishi and CELOS controllers
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
  • Self-starter working with little direct supervision
  • Team orientated with the ability to influence others without authority

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree is a plus
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt a plus

Responsibilities

  • Ability to write programs that will machine complex parts to very close tolerances on multiple axes on various machining centers.
  • Horizontal Machining Centers including Macro, sub program and variable programming knowledge.
  • 4 axis lathes, 5 axis machining centers, Y axis lathes, and Vertical Machining Centers large and small
  • “Shop Floor” problem solving.
  • Kaizen participation such as SMDE, VSM, 5s, etc.
  • Maintain program libraries and revision status of program revisions per NADCAP requirements.
  • Hands-on knowledge of the programs storage and the ability to assist shop associates in uploading and downloading programs
