About The Position

The CNC Operator prepares and operates computer numerical control machines, following operational instructions for machine and part processes. The role includes properly loading parts and materials, conducting in-process inspections, making accurate ERP entries, and manufacturing parts to required quantities. The operator maintains a 5S work area, supports machine maintenance, and provides timely and accurate feedback to managers and machinists. The position monitors machine operation and display readouts to detect malfunctions, compares displayed data with specifications, and notifies a supervisor of machine malfunctions. It inspects and measures parts for conformance, may perform machine adjustments and maintenance, follows facility and machine safety procedures, and alerts a manager to safety concerns. Machining is planned by studying work orders and instructions, and the operator interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances. This is a second-shift schedule described as four days, with a pay differential. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
