CNC Mill Setup Operator

LEHNER SCREW MACHINE LLC•Akron, OH

About The Position

OGS Machining, a medium-volume CNC job shop, is hiring a full-time CNC Mill Setup/Operator for first shift. The shop typically works four ten-hour days, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with occasional overtime on Fridays as needed. Typical machining orders average 100–500 pieces. About 75% of jobs are made from bar stock, with the remainder involving castings or billet. Parts are hand-held, so cranes and material-handling equipment are not necessary. The posting notes that the company’s CNC turning equipment is mostly less than four years old and state-of-the-art. The position sets up and operates vertical mills for production and occasionally edits programs at the machine controls. The operator proves out and inspects first pieces, troubleshoots and optimizes existing programs, documents changes and processes, monitors part quality, plans tooling needs, and helps improve productivity. The role also includes inspecting and deburring parts to blueprint specifications, basic preventative maintenance, maintaining a clean work area, and following safety procedures. OGS Machining is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
